COVID-19 UPDATES

To our patients,

As you know your care and safety and the safety of our team is our top priority.

Recommendations to dental offices are changing rapidly regarding shelter in place, social distancing and essential dental treatment. We are working hard to remain compliant with the recommendation by the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and our Governor that California dentists suspend all care other than essential and emergency treatment.

If you have any questions regarding your dental care or have urgent concerns, please call us or send a direct message through our website; we are here for you and will be seeing emergency patients.

Our phones will be answered during our normal business hours and, as always, we can be reached outside of the business hours for any emergency calls.

We are looking forward to returning to patient care and the opportunity to once again visit with our dental family of patients…we miss you all!

Thank you for being our patients!

TMJ Treatment

The temporomandibular joints, or TMJs, allow your mouth to open and close and move side to side. When your bite is not properly balanced, your TMJs must overcompensate, and this constant strain can result in facial pain, headaches, and other symptoms. Dr. Mateja can assess your symptoms and provide you with an occlusal guard that is custom-made to fit over your teeth, repositioning your jaw and preventing undue strain on your TMJs.

Sleep Apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea is a condition in which the relaxed muscles of the throat obstruct the flow of air to the lungs. As a result, you can rarely enter into a deep sleep cycle, and you may wake up multiple times in the night. Dr. Mateja offers a complete medical assessment to detect the signs of sleep apnea. She may also recommend you to a sleep specialist for a sleep study, or recommend a custom mouthpiece designed to keep your airways open at night.

Root Canal Therapy

If you have experienced tooth decay that has advanced to the center, or pulp, of a tooth, you may be in need of a root canal. This procedure removes the pulp of the tooth, preserving the healthy outer structure. A custom crown is usually the final step in this process, restoring balance, functionality, and a normal appearance to your smile.
